Q: Who are Medical Research Management, Inc (MRM) and the MRM Learning Management System (LMS)?

A: Since 1999, MRM has been a leading provider of comprehensive clinical research education and training. MRM has launched a learning management system that can be used by the individual or research organizations such as Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device Companies, Contract Research Organizations, Academic Institutions, and Independent Research sites.

Q: What does the Learning Management System (LMS) provide?

A: Our learning management system (LMS) contains a library of clinical research courses and other Elearning products, and provides an LMS Administrator account to track individualized training records including pre and post testing examinations, earned continuing education contact hours, and curriculums with learning objectives. This LMS service is automatically provided with the purchase of one or more products at no extra charge.

Q: What is the LMS Administrator?

A: The LMS Administrator is part of the learning management system that is used by the individual or Company to activate and launch products; manage and track training activities such as products purchased, activated, and completed; and to download and archive individualized training records. All training records are archived under the LMS administrator and can be printed or downloaded by the individual or research organization. There are two types of LMS Administrator accounts: individual and group. Individuals can activate and access the courseware. Research organizations purchasing group products can manage and track staff training activities.

Q: What kind of training records are archived?

A: The tracking of individualized training records including pre and post testing examinations, earned continuing education contact hours, certificates of completion, and course curriculums with learning objectives.

Q: How do I obtain my own or my staffs training records?

A: All training records are archived under the individual and/or Group LMS administrator accounts and can be printed or downloaded by the individual or research organization.

Q: Do I have to be part of a group purchase to use the MRM LMS?

A: No, the system is designed for either the individual user or companies purchasing training for their staff.

Q: If I am part of a Company group purchase do I create an individual LMS Administrator Account?

A: Yes, new LMS users must create an individual account to activate and access Elearning products. The individualized training records are archived under both the LMS individual and group administrator accounts. Returning users purchase and/or activate additional products using their existing Administrator account.

Q: Do I have to create a new LMS Individual or Group Administrator Account with additional purchases or courseware activation?

A: No, returning users purchase or activate additional products using their existing Administrator account. However, for security reasons you will need to re-create a new password every 6 months.

Q: Are the training programs and education modules self-paced?

A: Yes, however course access expires after 3 months to prevent unauthorized access. If you do not complete the course during that timeframe you must submit a request, in writing, requesting re-activation. Re-activation is provided at 30 day intervals.

Q: Is each training program offered with a corresponding textbook?

A: Yes, the textbook will be mailed to the student upon registration. Some programs also include a workbook with activities to complete.

Q: What is the instructional design of your courseware?

A: Medical Research Management, Inc has modified and adapted the Instruction Systems Design (ISD) model to design and develop courseware used to train clinical research professionals. MRM takes into consideration Bloom’s learning domains of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor in the design of learning objectives, activities, and test questions.
Courseware Design to Maximize the Learning Experience Includes:
- Pre-examination to evaluate the learner's (SKA) Skills, Knowledge or Attitude prior to training;
- Content and layout strategies include behavioral learning objectives, key terms, diagrams, flow charts, and tables highlighting key points, example documents, workbook activities and examination review guides;
- The learner has access to examination review guides prior to taking the post exam;
- Post examination to evaluate the learner's (SKA) Skills, Knowledge or Attitude acquired from training;
- The post examinations provide feedback with correct and incorrect answers; and
- The learner evaluates if the course has met each behavioral learning objective.

Q: What does the user service agreement require?

A: With every purchase, and/or courseware activation, the user and Company agrees not to allow unauthorized access to purchased and activated products. The user is not permitted to copy or distribute material to other non-users in any form. All materials are protected under the United States copyright laws.

Q: Is MRM accredited or an approved provider of continuing education contact hours?

A: Yes, Medical Research Management, Inc is accredited by The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. ACPE Universal Program Numbers and the continuing education units (CEUs) available are listed with each respective course.
Medical Research Management is an approved provider for the California and Florida Boards of Nursing to provide continuing education hours for Registered Nurses (Florida Provider Number # NCE 3423, California Provider Number # CEP 13617). The nursing continuing education contact hours available are listed with each respective course.

Q: What type of Elearning products does MRM offer?

A: Currently our LMS contains several learning options: comprehensive training programs, education modules devoted to a single topic in clinical research, and 90 minute interactive Webinars.

Q: What type of security does the LMS use?

A: All account data is stored within a secured Microsoft SQL Server database and information passed between the account holder and the website uses 128-bit SSL encryption. All data processed for the website is stored on a server secured within an approved 3rd-party's state-of-the-art data center that is a NASDAQ traded company which has 2 data centers with the following security features:
1. Backup emergency diesel-powered generator systems for continuous operation.
2. Redundant UPS with battery support for uninterrupted power.
3. Custom-designed NOC with support systems that allow for real-time analysis, review and maintenance of Web servers.
4. A wide range of physical security features including biometric and badge access systems, along with continuous video monitoring.
5. Redundant cooling in all areas to protect temperature-sensitive equipment.
6. Critical fire detection and suppression systems.
7. Remote and local monitoring of electrical, mechanical, and emergency support systems.

Q: What about 21 CFR 11?

A: Every purchased product has a unique activation code and password requiring an initial activation to the individuals LMS Administrator account. The individual using an email address and password creates the LMS Administrator account. All Administrator passwords expire after 6 months requiring the creation of a new password. All log-ins and database entries are time and date stamped.
